Position: Technical Sales Representative 

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Reports To: Sales & Marketing Manager

About the Role

Empire Feeds Ltd is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Technical Sales Representative to support sales growth while providing practical technical guidance to our customers. The role combines sales execution with on-farm advisory support to ensure optimal use of our feed products and improved animal performance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting Empire Feeds’ products, managing customer relationships, and offering technical solutions that add value to farmers, distributors, and stockists within an assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell Empire Feeds’ product range while providing technical advice and support to customers
  • Conduct farm visits to assess feeding programs and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Demonstrate and explain product benefits, usage, and performance expectations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, distributors, and stockists
  • Support product demonstrations, trials, field days, and farmer trainings
  • Collect customer orders and ensure timely payment in line with company policies
  • Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activities
  • Prepare and submit sales, technical, and market reports as required
  • Ensure proper documentation and handover of customer information
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Veterinary Science, Agriculture, Agribusiness, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in technical sales, animal nutrition, or livestock production
  • Experience working directly with farmers, stockists and distributors 
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical knowledge of animal feeds and livestock production
  • Ability to communicate technical information in a practical and customer-friendly manner
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Good negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; CRM knowledge is an added advantage
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in the field
